Cambodia: Strengthening farmer’s capacities to access the organic market and provide peer to peer training (November 2014)
The cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia through different Learning Routes started in 2012 with one on Public Private Partnership and continued in 2013 with farmer to farmer internships on organic production and a second Learning Route, this time on the Thai’s Community Learning Centres (CLCs) and One Territory one Product (OTOP) models.
The renewed plan of collaboration 2014-15 between IFAD Cambodia Country Team and ROUTASIA is focused in building farmers capacities for a better access to organic markets. The outstanding farmers from Cambodia will become equipped Local Champions and will play a key role in the expansion of the organic value chain by the management of the first CLCs in the country. In this frame, a team of farmers and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries´s staff will participate in a Learning Route on Thailand´s Post Harvesting best practices, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Ministry of Interior and five Outstanding Farmers Enterprises.
